Everything went pretty smoothly for me in terms of creating a basic "fluid" page. I'm still a little confused with fluid layouts as to whether all left and right padding should be in percentages or not, and whether there are situations when you should use pixels instead. I started getting into trouble when I started to add the extras such as a full body-width header, elements nested within elements (section within an article), and a horizontal, unordered list nav bar. At times, I felt the dominoe effect - changing one thing would lead to several other changes. I worked everything out without too much trouble, except for the nav bar - it's not finished. QUESTIONS: - Is it preferred to create a new external style sheet for each assignment, or can/should it be embedded?
- I don't think I saw it stated anywhere, but we're supposed to link our assignments to our Home page right?

Wow - super job. Your page looks really nice and is resizing nicely. As you said, the only trouble is with the navigation links. When the window gets narrow, they are going out of the container. Perhaps just a smaller font would fix the problem.
When you are doing flexible layouts, you generally set everything that takes up space on the width in percents. If you have a fluid column, you can put an element inside without specifying a width. If it's a block level element, it will expand to fill the container width-wise. You can put padding on that in pixels, if you like. As long as you don't specify a width for the element, it should work just fine.
For assignments that are just one page in length, you can just put the styles in the head of the page. You would want to use an external style sheet for a site, or for groups of pages that use the same styles, though. That's the only efficient way to work with groups of pages that are styled basically the same.
Yes, you should be creating links from your home pages to each of the assignments. Thanks for asking. I'll have to remember to add that to the assignment. That makes it possible to reach your pages without a link from the discussion board. I have to do that from time to time.
