1. Starting Point
How much did you know about Web design, HTML and CSS Layout when you started?
I considered myself a Beginner even with a few classes under my belt. Without keeping what I had learned constant and relying on Wordpress themes and plugins I saw areas that I had forgot about.
2. Ending Point
How comfortable are you with Web Design, HTML and CSS Layout now?
I feel more comfortable now. Again, I need to continue working in Dreamweaver and not so much in designing but without the true backend knowledge that I want to retain.
3. Class Materials
How do you feel about the books and videos that we used in class? Was it helpful for you? Do you have any suggestions for other methods or materials - or a wish list of what you would like to have seen?
A thumbs up for all instruction tools! Lynda.com is wonderful as was the book. They help a lot.
4. Something That Was the Hardest for You
What part of taking this class was the most difficult for you?
Getting frustrated by not remembering stuff I knew that I had learned already. Once I got over that, things went smoothly.
5. Something That Was the Easiest
Deciding on a topic for the final project was a no brainer. Choosing images was fun and easy.
What part of taking this class was the easiest for you?
6. Support
Do you have suggestions for ways that I can support students more fully - especially in what you think are the most difficult parts of the class.
Actually, Judy, after taken a few courses that you have taught, your personality comes through even in an online course. You are understanding, patient, helpful, and yet firm in the assignment requirements. I would not change a thing. Your methods are wonderful!
7. One Thing You Have Learned
If you had to pick one thing, what would you say is the most important thing you've learned this semester?
An important thing I learned this semester is to stay determined and focused. When things don't go just right, then get up and take a break. Things will look differently a little later in a positive way.
8. Anything Else
What else would you like to say?
I would like to share with those in this class and you, Judy, that no matter how old a person is, they should never feel they are too old to learn or go to school! It took me forty years to finally get here and fulfill a promise I made to my mother before she passed away in 2011 (to get my higher education). The next year (2012) I enrolled at Palomar College and now am a Math class away from my AA degree just in time for my 60th birthday, G-D Willing!
Without the help of the GC department, it would not have happened. My deepest thanks to you.
