I can't say that I mastered floats, but I think I'm getting used to them. It took few hours to create simple site. I was not quite sure how to make a first letter of a paragraph larger and let the following letter wrap around the first letter like James Williamson demonstrated in the video, but I'm willing to find the time to go back and try to do that again. gc.palomar.edu/34634/34634todo7260/Unit6FloatLayout.html

Your page looks really nice. You did a good job with everything, except one. You are not supposed to set a height on your main elements. You have set quite a few heights.
You do have a white background on your columns. I imagine that you set the heights because the columns were not an even height. If you look in unit 7, I have a number of fixes for this - and none require you to set a height on your page elements. Setting heights is a very dangerous practice, because it does not allow for changing text size.
